Now in its fifth year, the Tawas Point Birding Festival has gained nationwide recognition as a key destination for observing spring bird migration. Birders from 21 states flocked to Tawas and Oscoda communities in 2009. Due to its popularity, this year’s event will host the Annual Conference of the Michigan Audubon Society. The support of residents and local businesses has helped build the excitement for bird watching opportunities in the area.
